Making a song and dance about it
ImageThanks to (click here) TimeLine held a Heritage Fair - that was also a party for Clissold Park (119 years old on 24th July), celebrating Hackney becoming a Fairtrade Borough and ....

ImageBig Dance Week.  Personalities, poets and public all joined in to enjoy Fun & Facts about Stoke Newington and Hackney History & Heritage - with pictures, music, singing, dance, company and cake.  

ImageIt just did not matter how old you were, you could come along and find something fun to do at the fair.  Inside there were Cornish cream teas, ice creams, brilliant book-signing stall with the famous writer Emma Smith - Hackney grandmother - signing The Great Western Beach for people to read about Cornwall on their summer holidays;

ImageJohn Hegley and Jo Roach were great entertainers;  George Alagiah and the Speaker of Hackney came along to make the fun even better; there were  fabulous fairtrade lucky dips and an amazing raffle, supported by local businesses who gave us totally brilliant prizes that loads of people won. 

ImageArsenal F.C. came along to help the sharp shooters score in a penalty shoot-out - with lots of great football presents given out to visitors to the TimeLine Fair - all free of charge.

ImageAbney Park Cemetery stepped back three hundred years with a unique dance in front of the ruined old chapel: off came the baseball caps and on went the wigs, capes and ruffs. People might be used to strange goings-on in the cemetery, but this was a new one.....
