Clissold Park History
ImageOne class of six and seven year olds spent a long time in the summer term of 2005 finding out for themselves about the history of Clissold House.  TimeLine helped them with their researches – even celebrating a special wedding anniversary .... Class 2C at Grazebrook Primary School became real experts about Clissold Park – more than one hundred years after it opened up as a public park. Working with their teacher, the TimeLine editor started them off, and soon this culturally diverse group of children had a brilliant time exploring the Clissold environment, soaking up the atmosphere, doing drawings and writing stories about the history of the park - they even wrote a PLAY about it!

Their class teacher Cathy Schling directed the play as they performed it to the rest of the school in assembly, teaching their friends about the love story of Eliza and Augustus Clissold.

Thank you to Nadia Priebe for the lovely picture of Augustus Clissold and his bride. If you would like to know more about the history of Clissold House have a look at Issue 4
