We have been working hard to achieve Our Objects .  The more we do, the further we would like to take TimeLine.   You can see what we mean if you look at What People Say.   

In 2008 TimeLine became a charity: we are very grateful to our Patrons, who are all people we admire, for lending us their names to support the work of TimeLine. The most important thing to us is that we are able to pass on the stories and other contents of TimeLine to anyone who wants to read  them.  TimeLine has been able to share so many interesting, inspiring and positive things about Hackney with thousands of people, partly because it has been free and easily accessible.   Anyone can just pick it up and have a read without having to decide whether to spend any money on it.  So it reaches children, people who like history but never buy books or go to museums, casual readers with a few minutes to spare.  That’s why  we don’t want to put a price to it, but we do need help from people who sympathise with our aims.

For some people, this website is an answer, but it is not the answer.   There are plenty of people who do not use computers, or do not have time to spare when they are in front of a screen, or simply prefer to read from paper than from a computer screen.  And  one of the pleasures for a lot of  TimeLine readers is that it is a shared activity, whether it is in family groups, residential home quiz sessions, or classrooms.   So the printed TimeLines - which we think are nicer than the electronic version - will carry on as well as this website.

Partnership Arrangements
Sometimes TimeLine works co-operatively on projects with partner organisations.  TimeLine showcases an appropriate project of the partner organisation, which in turn makes a financial contribution towards that issue of TimeLine.   A good example is Issue 10 , where TimeLine worked in partnership with a local London Wildlife Trust  schools project

Advertising
